Teacher Loan Forgiveness Programs
Overview
The Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program provides loan repayment assistance to teachers who meet certain eligibility requirements. Teachers who have been employed full-time in a public or private elementary or secondary school for five consecutive academic years may be eligible for forgiveness of up to $17,500 in federal student loan debt.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program, you must meet the following requirements: * Be a highly qualified teacher * Have completed at least five consecutive academic years of full-time teaching * Have taught in a public or private elementary or secondary school * Have received a satisfactory evaluation for each year of teaching service
